Il canto del MW è veramente unico caratterizzato da un repertorio vario, armonioso, improvvisato, con alternanza di suoni gravi (profondi) a suoni medi o di medio-alta frequenza, a volte cristallino, che giustamente affascina anche l’ascoltatore più inesperto. Presenta un’estensione di frequenze veramente notevole: dai ca 400 Hz ai ca 16.000 Hz!
Il MW rende con molta bravura i cosiddetti “suoni d’acqua”, cioè riproduce in modo sublime il suono dell’acqua che gocciola, che ribolle, che scorre infrangendosi di volta in volta contro ostacoli diversi. Naturalmente tutto ciò in relazione al talento del soggetto.
Le altre frasi che rendono peculiare il canto del MW sono tutte quelle che il nostro beniamino ha “rubato” all’usignolo, che resta a nostro avviso il miglior cantore che madre natura ci ha donato. Ci riferiamo in particolare ai flauti ed ai suoni metallici nonché a tutti quei suoni che sono stati presi in prestito dalla natura: il grugnito del maiale, il tambureggiare del picchio sui tronchi degli alberi.
Comprendere il canto e soprattutto la qualità ed il valore dei singoli tours emessi, è piuttosto difficile. Solo una grande passione ed una notevole sensibilità musicale ci permetteranno, sotto la guida di un allevatore esperto, di avere padronanza e sapere discernere fra un cantore con talento ed uno mediocre.
Pertanto i consigli che ci sentiamo di dare sono i seguenti:
- Munirsi dei criteri di giudizio della razza MW e visionare la pagina Analisi.
- Richiedere alla FOI il CD del canto del canarino MW;
- Ascoltare i file presenti in questo sito e su youtube;
- Di primaria importanza la visita presso l’allevamento di un Malinoista che sarà senz’altro disponibile e orgoglioso di farvi ascoltare degli ottimi soggetti;
- Frequentare le mostre ornitologiche dove il malinois è presente come categoria a concorso e meglio ancora i club di specializzazione.
In generale il canto del MW è tanto più di valore quanto più esso sia profondo, cioè si sviluppi su tonalità gravi o medio-basse con purezza dei suoni.
Riconoscimento dei tours
Forse il miglior metodo per impadronirsi e sapersi destreggiare nel riconoscimento dei vari tours che emette il canarino Malinois Waterslger, è quello di visionare i molti video che si trovano su Youtube, facendo una ricerca con la parola chiave waterslager.
Qui di seguito ne proponiamo alcuni perchè li riteniamo più “didattici” e adatti sia al principiante che all’allevatore più esperto.
– Forse il migliore presente sulla rete. Si possono ascoltare buoni suoni d’acqua, ottime tjokken e tjokkenroll, di qualità mediocre lo staaltonen.
– Qui ascoltiamo uno staaltonen sicuramente migliore del precedente, ottima bollende, buona klokkende con rollende appena accennata, tjokken e tjokkenroll assenti.
Proponiamo altri link a video di sicuro interesse e per quanto riguarda il primo di essi, trattasi di un Malinois “vecchia maniera”, cioè con suoni usignolati stupendi, klokkende battente e non curvata come quella degli altri video, che andava di moda qualche decina di anni fa, quando il meticciamento con il canarino Harzer era ancora agli inizi.
