Breeding

Breeding
With regard to hatching, the MW is very rustic with a canary excellent suckler females. There is no problem whatsoever and does not need any special device.
Well-lit, proper nutrition, breeding in good shape are the ingredients for a satisfactory breeding season … or so we hope to every early spring! Since playing the MW does not differ from the common canary, we refer the reader to the numerous articles and books written about her and any experience, including information on mating, inbreeding, etc. … Things change from weaning onwards.
Weaning and School
When the newly independent, around day 30 of life, the primary objective, which also coincides with the ultimate goal of farming MW, is to transfer as closely as possible the song from master to novice. It is imperative at this point to just one premise: the bride and not the recorders! Each one of them according to their genome, responds differently to external stimuli and thus makes the song very personal, enriching and transforming it at will. Also use the canary song to fall in love with the female and therefore in all these species, natural selection has rewarded improvisation and variation than storing the exact and precise repertoire that will be heard. Nevertheless the guidance of a hand as close as possible to that of the standard, definitely give the bride and a completeness of repertoire and above all a better quality of various tours.
In virtually all studies involving the learning of song, whether innate or learned, many reported in the excellent work “Canaricoltura” ed. FOI, it focuses only on quantitative aspects, ie how many phrases are learned. This order is naturally adapted to the purposes of research. For the breeder of Malinois is an understatement: we are interested not only the number of phrases from the newly acquired (quantitative factors: completeness of footage) but also as the sentences are issued (qualitative aspect of the song: depth and purity of all, rhythm, variation, modulation, harmony and musicality of the song, etc …).
Here the importance of singing school: put every single novel in a position to express its potential.
Given that song learning starts immediately after weaning, the bride and transfer them into the room “school” just independent of their parents. This is a second room, soundproof the room “hatching”, or where there are the master or masters singer. In this phase begins the so-called subcanto followed by the plastic hand. We stress that in general, the Master is a canary adult, on the other hand as close as possible to the standard and possibly of the same blood-weds.
If life ever more frantic allow us to stop a few more minutes on the local “school”, we realize that small listen to the teacher and try to follow along cantandoci. Even months maturing in unison! They are incomparable sensations that excite us. Like the rest of the music.
In newly weaned we usually enter the room “school” only because we noticed that the males and females “distract males from hearing.”
It is important however to have a minimum length of 120cm aviary, where the new can harden physically. The advice is not too affollarle: max 15 persons possibly chronologically neighboring broods.
The power supply is constituted by a mixture of only two seeds: canary grass and turnip. To be precise, it starts with the scagliola and only then add gradually rape in such a way to be achieved within 3-4 weeks 30% by weight of the latter. In the aviary, in separate feeders, it is good to keep for the canaries, large and small, the cornmeal “coveted”. A little ‘apple 1-2 times a week compliment. Nothing more.

    Ciao Lorenzo,
    A presto, Gianfranco.
